Syngonium chiapense 'Frozen Heart'
Syngonium chiapense 'Frozen Heart' is a captivating variety known for its large, heart-shaped leaves with a smooth texture and vibrant green colour. The elegant heart-shaped leaves have a glossy finish, giving this plant a sophisticated and serene appearance. 'Frozen Heart' is a relatively rare and sought-after Syngonium species, valued for its robust growth and striking foliage. It is a fast-growing climber that thrives indoors, adding a touch of nature and elegance to any space.
The leaves are typically a deep green colour with a slight silvery or frosted sheen, like frost on a leaf surface. This plant also tends to have a robust and upright growth habit and will need a moss pole to climb as it matures. The leaves become multi-lobed and take on a rubbery texture when the plant reaches maturity.
To care for your 'Frozen Heart', provide it with bright, indirect light and keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Maintain high humidity levels (60–80%) by misting the plant regularly or placing it near a humidifier. The ideal temperature range is between 18–25°C, and it's essential to protect the plant from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Use a well-draining, rich potting mix, preferably one designed for aroids, and feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
