Anthurium gracile ‘Mangrove’
Anthurium gracile ‘Mangrove’ is an unusual collector's Anthurium prized for its long, narrow foliage and dramatic white aerial roots. As the plant matures, the thick roots spread beyond the pot and create a distinctive sculptural appearance reminiscent of mangrove roots, making the plant particularly striking when displayed in a basket or raised planter.
Unlike the broad, velvety foliage associated with many collector Anthuriums, Anthurium gracile offers a lighter and more architectural form. Its slender, leathery green leaves rise above the exposed root system, creating an elegant combination of foliage, texture and natural structure.
Mature plants may also produce slender inflorescences followed by hanging clusters of brilliant red berries, which have earned the species its well-known name, Red Pearls Anthurium. With its unusual roots, refined foliage and colourful fruiting display, this is a rewarding species that becomes increasingly impressive as it develops.
