Monstera obliqua - Amazonas
Monstera obliqua — Amazonas Form is a rare collector plant admired for its delicate foliage, elongated leaf shape and distinctive rounded fenestrations. The thin leaves develop an elegant, lightly textured appearance, giving this form a refined character unlike more commonly grown Monsteras.
“Amazonas Form” is a horticultural name used to distinguish this particular form within the naturally variable Monstera obliqua species. As the plant matures and climbs, its foliage becomes increasingly expressive, while established plants may also produce long, leafless runners known as stolons.
This specialised Monstera performs best in a warm, stable environment with high humidity, consistent moisture and good airflow. A moss pole or other moisture-retentive support encourages the roots to attach and helps the plant develop stronger climbing growth.
Light: Bright indirect or filtered light; protect the delicate foliage from direct sunlight
Water: Keep the growing medium lightly and consistently moist without allowing it to become waterlogged
Humidity: Prefers high humidity with good airflow and stable warmth
Growth Habit: Delicate climbing aroid that benefits from a moss pole or other moisture-retentive vertical support
Common names: Monstera Obliqua Amazonas, Monstera Obliqua Amazonas Form, Monstera Obliqua Amazonica, Amazonas Obliqua.
Each plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, shape, maturity, fenestration and growth habit.
