Monstera 'Peru'
The Monstera Peru (aka Monstera karstenianum) is a unique and fascinating species that stands out from its more common Monstera relatives due to its distinctive foliage. This compact climber features thick, leathery leaves with a deep green colour and a unique, heavily textured surface that gives them an almost embossed appearance. Unlike many other Monstera species, the Peru variety doesn't develop fenestrations, instead maintaining its characteristic bullate (puckered) texture throughout its growth.
Native to the tropical regions of Peru, this plant thrives in conditions that mimic its natural habitat. Its compact growth habit and unusual leaf texture make it an excellent choice for smaller spaces or as part of a larger tropical display. The plant's climbing nature allows it to be trained up supports, where its distinctive foliage can create an eye-catching vertical display.
