The Philodendron ilsemanii is a rare, highly coveted variegated climbing Philodendron with large, elongated heart-shaped leaves splashed and streaked in creamy white, light green, and sometimes soft pink against deep green. Its variegation is famously unpredictable, with some leaves showing only subtle streaks and others emerging heavily marbled or even mostly white, so every new leaf feels like a surprise.
This plant has a bit of “unicorn” status among collectors due to its debated origins, very limited availability, and the high prices it still commands on the rare occasions it appears for sale.
