Monstera ‘Esqueleto’ - Exact Specimen
Monstera ‘Esqueleto’ is a climbing aroid grown for its dark green foliage and dramatic natural perforations. The name means “skeleton” in Spanish, referring to the rib-like pattern created by the leaf’s open spaces.
As it develops, the foliage can become substantial, with smaller openings near the midrib and larger perforations extending towards the leaf edge. A sturdy vertical support gives this climbing plant room to develop and allows its aerial roots to attach.
‘Esqueleto’ is the horticultural name used for this distinctive Monstera. Its botanical species identity remains unresolved, so it is best described as Monstera ‘Esqueleto’.
This exact specimen is growing in a 140 mm pot and is partially climbing a moss pole. The plant with its moss pole measures approximately 60 cm tall in total. It carries four well-developed leaves, with visible aerial roots growing down alongside the stem and into the moss pole.
