Philodendron Billicosum — Exact Specimen
Philodendron Billicosum is the horticultural trade name used for the rare hybrid between Philodendron verrucosum and Philodendron billietiae. Both parents are recognised climbing Philodendron species, each valued for very different foliage characteristics.
Philodendron verrucosum is documented for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves, prominent venation and textured petioles, while Philodendron billietiae develops long, narrow foliage carried on distinctive yellow-orange petioles. Individual hybrid plants can vary in how strongly they express characteristics inherited from each parent.
Billicosum has a climbing growth habit and benefits from a moss pole or other sturdy vertical support as it develops. Providing support allows the plant to follow the natural climbing habit documented for both parent species.
