Philodendron ilsemanii — Exact Specimen
Philodendron ilsemanii is a rare and highly sought-after collector Philodendron, prized for its unpredictable variegation and elongated foliage. The name Philodendron ilsemanii has a long history in cultivation and remains firmly established in the rare-plant trade, even though modern taxonomy treats it as a synonym of Philodendron sagittifolium.
Collectors value this plant for the way each leaf can develop differently, with variegation ranging through cream, pale green and white against the deeper green foliage. That variability is a major part of its appeal, particularly in established specimens where multiple leaves allow the patterning to be appreciated across the whole plant.
This exact specimen measures approximately 45–50 cm high and 30 cm wide, with eight established leaves. The newest leaf is showing exceptional variegation, making it a particularly strong feature of the plant.
The specimen is fully rooted in a 12 cm pot and well established.
